Essentials
What the things you replace regularly cost you each month, estimated from prices you enter rather than guessed from your ledger.
Toothpaste, shampoo, detergent, pet food. Real recurring spending that never appears as a recurring charge, because it is bought with cash or inside a grocery basket at whatever interval the tube runs out.
Trove does not try to find these in your transactions. A fuel receipt cannot be split between two cars and a supermarket basket cannot be split into a shampoo and a week of vegetables, so guessing would produce a number that looks precise and is wrong. You state what one costs and how long it lasts.
The arithmetic
cost per day = what one costs / how many days it lasts
monthly estimate = cost per day x 30
Thirty days, not the length of the actual month. A figure that changed every February would look like a price change rather than a calendar artefact.
Why the figures are round
Every total is rounded to the nearest ten. This is an estimate built from a price you half remember and a cycle you guessed at, and rendering it as "₹41.33 a month" would claim an accuracy the inputs cannot support.
Confirming a price
Trove asks about a price it has not seen confirmed in ninety days, and about any item that has never had one. The same mechanic covers both, because both are the same question: does Trove know what this costs today.
Answering is two taps. Nothing is a blocking prompt, and an item you stop buying can be left out of the total without deleting its history.
What it does not do
It does not track stock, remind you to buy anything, or infer items from your spending. It is a cost estimate, not an inventory.
